The Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream is for natural hair. It claims to not have any mineral oil, sulfates, paragons, silicones, etc. It has a strong coconut smell which can be overpowering to anyone that is sensitive to fragrances.
I liked the results that I received after using the Cantu Shea Butter Moisturizing Curl Activator Cream. My curls were not hard like they are with gel. With gel, the hardness will go away after a few days. With this product, I never had any hardness. My curls were soft and pretty much stayed in place. I didn’t have as much shrinkage as I thought I would.
Here is a photo of my sisters and I two days after I had applied the the product to my hair. It had some shrinkage but not that much. This is the same amount of shrinkage that I normally get depending on the product that I use in my hair. If I put a bonnet on my head at night, I tend to get more shrinkage compared to if I leave my hair loose.
I would say this is a great product to use for wash and go’s. I have done two Wash and Go’s with this product. I have just enough in the bottle to get maybe two more. This might not be the case for you if you try it, though. I am heavy handed when it comes to applying products to my hair. Depending on the length and thickness of your hair, you may get plenty of use out of the 12 fl oz size.
Check out the video above to see me apply the product.
