That Time When I Made Stuffed Chicken Wings

by BeautyInWorship

I had been wanting to try stuffed chicken wings for a while. I was fascinated with the concept of eating a chicken wing with food stuffed on the inside.  I wanted to try the Too Fat to Fly chicken wings but never had the opportunity. Whenever I was in the area they were not open.

I’m always up for a challenge to try something for the first time. So, I watched a bunch of youtube videos and decided to try to make them myself. On my first try, I made chicken wings stuffed with broccoli and cheese. After that first try, I was hooked. I loved them so much and began to come up with different foods to stuff in the wings. I tried mustard greens and also an egg roll mix since I love egg rolls.

My close family and friends know that when I become fascinated with something, I talk about it almost non stop. I told my mom and sisters about it. We even decided to do a stuffed chicken wing cook off at my mom’s house. It was a lot of fun but my mom was the only other person that stuffed some chicken wings. She got really creative with it and and made two types of wings. The first was stuffed with Stove Top Stuffing and the other was pineapple and rice. My sisters bought wings but they were not stuffed. One made her famous hot wings and the other one bought some wings from a Chinese restaurant. I won’t say they cheated but…

Anyway, the wings that I made were stuffed with an egg roll mix. We didn’t really name a winner but I believe I was because mine tasted like real egg rolls. I even had duck sauce on the side to dip them in.

The following photos are from my first time stuffing them with broccoli and cheese. I enjoyed them but the cheese didn’t seem to hold up by the end. It wasn’t as cheesy as I had expected.

I stuffed the wings with broccoli and cheese. This was the hardest part by far.

I baked the stuffed wings in the oven first. This is where the cheese disappeared.

I fried the stuffed chicken wings for about 10 minutes to make them a nice golden brown.

The wings are done. Bon Appetit!

This is what the wing looked like when I bit inside. The cheese disappeared but it was still delicious.

This is the egg roll mix that I came up with on my third try at making stuffed chicken wings.
