Found Faithful

by BeautyInWorship

Two days ago I was at work and these words dropped in my spirit…found faithful. I knew it was part of a scripture but I didn’t know it from memory. When I went on my break I searched for those words. It is from 1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (NKJV).

I began to ponder what God was saying to me by giving me that scripture. As I sat there for the rest of the workday I began to overanalyze. Was God telling me that He has found me faithful? Am I being arrogant to think that God might be saying that he has found me faithful? Is God saying that I need to be faithful? I was talking to a close friend about this later and she said, “Just take it for what it is. He is telling you that He has found you to be faithful. Whether its been for the last 5 years or last 5 minutes. He is saying that you’ve been found faithful.” Her words encouraged me and I received them.

I didn’t think anymore about it until today.

When I woke up this morning, I had these feelings of not measuring up in my service to God. I began to think about the last few years of my life and check off the areas that I could have been more faithful to God. I was saying to myself, “I should have been more committed in this area…”, “I didn’t serve in that area enough…”, “Why didn’t I do more of this? Maybe that is why such and such hasn’t happened yet.”

YOU DON’T HAVE TO PROVE ANYTHING. JUST BE.

Then later, that scripture came back to my mind. 1 Corinthians 4:2, Moreover, it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. And I thought back to my friend’s words to not overanalyze it but to take it for what it was. He has found you faithful.

When I got to work this morning something was said during the devotional that really stood out for me. The person sharing the devotional said, “You don’t have to prove anything. Just be.”

Since God knows the beginning from the end He took the time to encourage me before I knew that I would need encouragement. In His perfect omniscience, He knew that I would wake up today feeling like I hadn’t done enough for Him. He is extremely faithful. My desire has always been to serve Him in every area of my life and for Him to receive the glory. Knowing that He is faithful to finish the work that He has started in me gives me comfort. I can ‘just be’, trust Him, and do what I was created to do in the first place—worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God..
