I love to eat salads because they give me so much energy. I read the book Eat Right For Your Blood Type by Dr. Peter D’Adamo with Catherine Whitney. According to that book, as an A positive person, I should be eating a vegetarian diet. When I began to incorporate more vegetarian meals into my diet. I could see the difference in my energy level. I am not a vegetarian, because I do eat poultry. I do incorporate vegetarian type meals in my diet, though.
After I went on my hair journey I began the journey of eating for my hair. I was on the quest to consume foods that were known to be good for your hair, skin and nails. I wanted to eat beauty foods. I will be sharing recipes of foods that I have eaten or currently eat that I discovered were good for your hair.
Eating salads three to four times a week caused my skin to be in better shape and also I felt better. I had more energy. I also discovered that my menstrual cramps were not as bad as they used to be.
Here is my salad that I eat a lot. When I get tired of eating it, I do more green smoothies.
Organic salad greens (includes spinach, kale)
Red, Orange, or Yellow Bell Pepper
Cherry Tomatoes
Cucumber
Cranberry Trail Mix
Balsamic dressing, Strawberry or Red Wine Vinaigrette
I can eat on this the whole week.
For extra protein, I will sometimes cut up chicken tenders or place chicken strips on top. You can also place boiled eggs on top. For some reason I get sleepy with the boiled eggs on top though.
You can also add some cilantro.
This is a great food to incorporate in your fast if you will be starting a Daniel fast in January. The Daniel fast is based on what Daniel ate in the bible during the time when the Jews had been taken into captivity to Babylon referenced in Daniel 1: 3-16. Daniel and his friends were selected to serve in the King’s palace and were required to eat what the King ate. Many of these foods were those that Daniel did not eat because they were considered unclean in the Jewish culture.
11 So Daniel said to the steward[a] whom the chief of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance be examined before you, and the appearance of the young men who eat the portion of the king’s delicacies; and as you see fit, so deal with your servants.” 14 So he consented with them in this matter, and tested them ten days.
15 And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies. 16 Thus the steward took away their portion of delicacies and the wine that they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.
In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
